MISS MARION COUNTY TEEN USA 2011:  TORI PETRY

MISS MARION COUNTY USA 2011:  AMINA LOWERY

Meet Tori...

 Meet Amina...

Hello All!!

I want to thank you in advance for taking the time to read a little about me.

My name is Amina Lowery and I’m a recent graduate of the University of Florida, a current graduate student at the University of Central Florida, and your new Miss Marion County USA 2011!! I’m very excited about my reign and I plan to use my title to promote the USA in a positive light, through volunteering and fundraising for great causes. Now, as this is my first title in the USA system, it will indeed be the most special in my heart.

During my four years at the University of Florida I was involved in the Inter - Residential Hall Association, Alpha Phi Omega Service Fraternity, Florida Competitive Cheerleading, University Minority Mentoring Program, Gator Launch, and the Extreme Dance Company. I was a resident assistant in Broward Hall for two years. As well as the College Outreach Chair for Eta Sigma Gamma, a health education honorary in my degree field. Which with my position I helped to have over forty people tested for HIV/AIDS in hopes to lower the statistics of college students who do not know their status. I’m also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated and I’m proud to represent them at State. The girls in my sorority hold a special place in my heart as we are all sisters and I’m proud to say I’ve acquired about 47 of them!! And when I wasn’t busy with school or work, I was attending Florida Football games, I’m super proud to say I rushed University Blvd all four times the Gators won a National Championship.

I’m currently studying Health Administration and want to work within policy reform and the insurance industry. This has been a goal I’ve had my heart set on every since I sat through my first class in health professions. My first year of graduate school has been tough but rewarding as well. I hope this helps me to learn more about myself as the year progresses.

I’m very excited about the chance to represent Marion County at the state pageant this upcoming July. Since this will be my first pageant at the state level I’ll be working harder than I’ve ever done before. I’ll be taking everything thrown at me with stride and with grace, and I hope to come home a changed person.

To my new sister queens, you are all amazing women and I can’t wait to get to know you better. I hope these friendships last a lifetime. I hope to make you all proud as I know you will for me. And to Chelsee, it’s been a long road I’m excited to finally be on the other side and be part of an amazing group.

Once again I want to thank you for taking the time to read a little about me and I hope you have a great day. And GO GATORS!!!

Sincerely Yours,

Amina Lowery
